Science Plate Tectonics

 Hello,

For Science we did a experiment about Plate Tectonics. We had a plastic plate with some tomato sauce inside it to act as the magma in the Mantle. Then we had two wafers to put on top of the mantle to act as plate tectonics. We put one wafer on the sauce because tectonic plates sit on top of the mantle. With the other plate we put a punch hole in it and pushed it into the sauce. This created a form of sauce that looked like a mountain. Then we were told to move the plates together, apart, and rub them together. Here is a photo of it. Bye Bye!!

Bird Inquiry

Hello,

For science last term we were given an extinct New Zealand bird to research and study. We where put in a group to research our bird. Our groups bird was the Dieffenbach Rail. Our group made a slide with all the information on it and also links to our personal slide. In the slide we had some questions to answer that the teachers set up for us. All together we had six questions to answer. Here is my work.

Science Exploreing

We have been practising for our science fair.We thought of wondering questions.I thought thinking of the wondering question was difficult.I thought drawing the pictures
was easy. The learning behind this task was to practise for our big experiment.

Is Earth like a hard-boiled egg?

We are learning about what the Earth is like on the outside and the inside. We used hard-boiled eggs as mini-models for the earth. We got to design our own continents and islands on the outside of the egg shell. At the end of the experiment we got to eat the egg!
